Q. How do I acquire a copy of the L-1363 Magneto Maintenance and Overhaul Manual?
A. Click on the “SUPPORT” tab on the Home Page of the Champion Aerospace website and follow the “Technical Publications” link. From there you can register, and purchase, the F-1100 SLICK Magnetos and L-1500 LASAR Magneto manuals. The cost is $399.00/year payable via PayPal.
Q. How do I determine what Champion Aerospace Part Numbers fit my aircraft or engine?
A. Click on the “PARTS SEARCH” tab on the Home Page of the Champion Aerospace website. From there you can search product based on aircraft/airframe or engine model number. You can also download the AV-14 Application guide from the “Technical Publications” link on the webpage.
Q. What is the Life Expectancy of my Champion Spark Plugs?
A. Operating life varies with operating conditions. However, if a spark plug is properly serviced (Champion recommends every 50 hours) a massive style spark plug, “E” type, will last between 300 and 500 hours and a fine wire style spark plug, “S” type, will last between 1500 and 2000 hours.
Q. What is the Life Expectancy of my SLICK by Champion Harness?
A. Champion recommends 15 years or engine TBO hours replacement interval.
Q. Why are there multiple part numbers approved for my engine?
A. The OEM’s can approve an engine to operate with several different styles of product. From “E” and “S” style spark plugs for owner preference to heat ranges of 29 to 40 for engine performance depending on operational and environmental conditions. Always consult your engine manufacture if you are unsure what product is best suited for your engine and application.
Q. How often does my SLICK by Champion Magneto need to be serviced?
A. Champion recommends that non pressurized magnetos be inspected at 500 hour intervals and pressurized magnetos be inspected at 250 hour intervals.
